Born from a Gap at the Heart of Urban India
VGC was founded in 2023 by two urban planners who had spent years working inside India’s city systems and were frustrated by the same problem everywhere they looked: decisions were being made without reliable data. Master plans were built on outdated surveys. Infrastructure projects were designed without knowing what was already on the ground.
Households went unaccounted for. Assets were unmapped. And the people responsible for planning cities had neither the tools nor the teams to fix it. They started VGC with a clear conviction: data is not a by product of urban planning it is the foundation of it. Every road built, every policy drafted, every rupee allocated is only as good as the information it rests on.
